Launching the first episode of Power of Words with my sister, Mercedes Cook, made this new beginning even more meaningful. Our conversation is filled with childhood memories, family stories, laughter, encouragement, and the wisdom she has gained through every challenge and accomplishment. No matter how much we grow, she will always be my baby sister, and I am grateful that her voice and story became the beginning of this journey.

Representing The October Gallery at Philadelphia’s Juneteenth Parade was a powerful reminder of the gallery’s lasting impact on the city. From celebrating Black culture and community to hearing Mayor Cherelle Parker share her personal connection to the gallery, the day was filled with pride, gratitude, and reflection.
