Mom and Her Girls: Carpenter St. is a tribute to where I come from. My mother has been a hairstylist for as long as I can remember, and she still is today. But her gift has always gone far beyond doing hair. She is a neighborhood mom, a family healer, a listening ear, a source of wisdom, and a safe place for so many people.

This painting brings together my mother, her girls, our Carpenter Street roots, and the love and strength that shaped us. It isn’t one specific moment or memory. It represents where we come from, who raised us, and the woman who has always been at the heart of our family.
