Limitless Vision Collector Mug is a reminder to think bigger than the limits people try to put on you. The words on this mug are inspired by Mae Jemison, an African American astronaut and scientist who was born in Decatur, Alabama, and raised in Chicago, Illinois. In 1992, she became the first Black woman to travel in space when she flew aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour as a mission specialist. Before becoming an astronaut, she studied engineering and medicine and worked as a doctor, showing that creativity and science can go hand in hand. Jemison encouraged people to protect their curiosity and imagination, saying, “Don’t let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity.” She also warned against shrinking yourself to fit other people’s limits, saying, “Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.” Her life shows us that our dreams can be bigger than what others see for us.
The background artwork on this mug comes from an original painting created by my son, Lamonte. His creative expression and imagination are a constant reminder that legacy is not only something we inherit, but something we continue to build. This piece brings together history, vision, and the next generation of artists in one meaningful object meant to be used every day.

Mae Jemison believed ideas have power when you act on them, explaining, “I like to think of ideas as potential energy.” Together, her legacy and Lamonte’s artwork remind us to stay curious, think bigger, and keep building toward what we know is possible.
