The Healing Behind My Art | Philadelphia Artist Andromeda Cook

My art did not come from a place of decoration. It came from a place of healing.

There was a time in my life when I found myself surrounded by environments and emotions that needed transformation. I began creating as a way to process what I was feeling and to bring peace into the spaces around me. Art became my way of taking pain, negativity, and heavy energy and transforming it into something beautiful… hence “Grace Over Chaos”

Energy never dies. It only transforms. Through my work, I try to take difficult experiences and alchemize them into something that carries healing, meaning, and purpose.

Prayer has always been an important part of that process for me. Prayer is one of the most powerful forms of protection for the mind, body, and spirit. It keeps us grounded and connected to God, the ultimate Creator. Whenever I called on His name, I always felt a sense of safety and peace.

That connection to the Creator is something I try to carry into my artwork. I often incorporate intentional words, affirmations, and sometimes scripture because words hold energy. They shape the atmosphere of the spaces we live in.

When I create pieces for the home, I sometimes ask myself a simple question:

If God walked into this space, how would it feel?

If Jesus walked into this room, would the environment reflect peace, love, and purpose?

Those reflections guide my creative process.

To me, creating art is also a reminder that we are made in the image of the ultimate Creator. God created the universe, and in many ways we were placed here to create as well. When we create with intention, love, and purpose, we participate in that divine act of creation.

My artwork is my way of transforming pain into beauty, negativity into light, and everyday spaces into environments that carry healing energy.
